Music manifests itself more tangibly in the city through the music scene that takes place, in the neighborhoods; where an art district has settled, that is, where a music scene has been formed and consolidated over time and through different social and urban phenomena, it is in this way that the dialectical process between music and the city goes conditioning a physical dimension in the neighborhoods where this process occurs, and in turn, this social and spatial dynamic also influences the music scene. Through this essay we introduce some of the variables that define what a music scene is and how it is presented in the city through the art districts, in the same way, we expose the case of Greenwich Village which is one of the main art districts of New York, where a music scene has been established; of jazz specifically, to later describe how this music scene has influenced this neighborhood, to later conclude the relationship between music and the city through the music scenes in the art districts.
